McKenna – Chilean Wine, Irish Heritage

McKenna wines symbolize the heroism of General Juan McKenna during the Chilean War of Independence, an Irish man born in Ireland in 1771.

For his heroism Juan McKenna was awarded the position as Commandant General in the Chilean army. He died in a duel after a life of adventure and heroism.

Undurraga commemorates this Irish hero with The McKenna Collection Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Founded in 1885 by Don Francisco Undurraga this family run winery owns 2500 acres in the Maipo and Colchagua valleys of Chile.

Alfonso Undurraga the current generation of the family, who is responsible for the sales and marketing, is the great grandson of the famous Irish General McKenna who fought in the Chilean war of Independence against the Spanish.
